I just thought of another potential irony.
We've all heard the expression about people lost at sea, "Water, water, everywhere, but not a drop to drink."
I can see a very odd parallel developing as more and more foreclosures develop. Empty houses everywhere as people end up in tent cities, under bridges, in cardboard boxes, etc.
Adrift in a sea of empty houses, but nowhere to live.
