"This BBC Interview that ran at 6:00 AM (est here in the states) on Saturday morning (9/19/09) with Professor Simon Johnson of MIT is absolutely the BEST explanation of both what happened (from a macro point of view) and the lack of change that has occurred since the crisis began.
This is information that the US Press has generally been avoiding like the plague ... probably imo because the US Press, Government officials, and talk radio's PAID Shrills, are basically "owned" by the big money Wall Street/Banker Types.
It is longish (almost 1/2 hour) but worth EVERY MINUTE!!
I encourage everyone to closely listen to it ... and pay attention to his comments about how the small sector that is finance has come to "own" the entities that should be reporting on it and regulating it.

Once you've listened to the interview (again, absolutely worthwhile!), you might find yourself asking (as I did) "Where was this guy being forthright and direct about the crisis when he was at the IMF?" Better late than never though, and his view & candor about what ahead is appreciated
