With respect there are very few conservative republicans. Ron Paul comes to mind. Everything in this country has been shifting left since I was first aware of politics. Consider that JFK would be considered exactly along the spectrum as Ron Paul. He even had signed an executive order assuring silver was considered money/reserves in the US.

According to this am news the conservative lost the congressional race. The "republican" dropped out and endorced the democrat last week. That's how conservative the republicans are. The candidates were not decided by primary election, but party nomination in new york.
