Dear Friend of GATA and Gold:
In his weekly interview with Eric King at King World News, silver market analyst Ted Butler remarks on Friday's big decline in precious metals prices and notes that silver held up surprisingly well. Butler adds that large amounts of silver were reported added to the SLV exchange-traded fund inventory this week. He also complains again about the concentrated short position in silver, which the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission continues to allow. Since the CFTC's latest supposed investigation of the silver market has produced nothing for a year, it is best assumed that the commission has determined that the U.S. government itself is behind the concentrated short position and that it just can't be discussed honestly. The interview with Butler is 10 minutes long and you can listen to it at the King World News Internet site here:
