Just thinnk of the "hidden" money market accounts. I know many brokerage houses have a "sweep" arrangement that involves placing all cash ballances in MMFs until they are invested in securities.

Businesses use money market accounts to store cash when they are cash+. These businesses are traded publicly and thus stock of those companies would be effected. This includes gold and silver mines.

This would not only be a freeze on banks - bank accounts, but of the entire economy!

I doubt that any debit card would be usable and credit cards would probably be frozen.

This whole thing smells like another way to protect banks from what "they" know is comming. Kind of like changing the bankrupsy rules in anticipation of an anticipated financial crisis. Hmmm
