Here is my brokers view on warrants, so there are many different opinions out there i'm sure.

I disagree, warrants “sweeten” an offer and in many cases, it helps to raise the capital needed to drill/explore etc. Its also a way for a company to raise more funds without having to file another prospectus or offering document.

Note: a short sale is one in which you have no shares to cover (IE. via a convert debenture, options, rights warrants etc) if you own warrants and want to sell the stock, that is not considered a short sale, as you do not need to borrow stock to cover settlement – you simply exercise the warrants, which covers settlement.
