ECU SILVER OBTAINS RECEIPT FOR FINAL PROSPECTUS

ECU Silver Mining Inc. has received a receipt from the securities regulatory authorities in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec for its final short-form prospectus dated Jan. 22, 2010, qualifying the distribution of 16,946,000 units of ECU issuable upon the exercise or deemed exercise of the previously issued 16,946,000 special warrants of ECU.

Pursuant to the terms of the special warrant indenture governing the special warrants, all of the outstanding special warrants will be deemed to be exercised without any further action by the holders thereof immediately prior to 5 p.m. (Toronto time) on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010.
