Just got off the phone with local bullion trader here. He is looking to buy a lot of gold and can't find any at the "wholesale" price level. Said all the local coin shops are wiped out. Tulving is completely wiped out of inventory, as is CNI and APMEX. Yesterday CNI had 100-lots of 1 oz. silver eagles and they have boxes of silver maple leafs and philharmonics. They are out of everything now. No one will commit to when they can offer sealed mint boxes again. This is a much more extreme situation than when Mint suspended production several times last year, because even then these big coin dealers would give an estimated date of when the Mint would start up again.
