Golden Minerals is a junior silver producer with a strong growth profile, listed on both the NYSE Amex and TSX.
There are so may excellent posters here that I always appreciate, and as you say Scruffy, the truth will come out. We have the choice of selection.
Lest I left the wrong impression I am not pointing fingers at Agoracom. I did say that the OSC was selecting an easy target with respect to this particular channel of communication. I have complained in writing to the OSC several times over the years re the naked shorting issue and other "oversights"...all to no avail. I suppose they are feeling the heat and fealt they needed a diversionary tactic, to be percieved to be taking some proactive stance...thinly veiled as it is. It's no different than the CFTC limiting long positions only. Unfortunately for the CFTC, it is now in the process of unravelling on them...in the public, global arena. Whoops. I am suspecting that Jeff Christian must be experiencing the meaning of the word "shun" these days.
The OSC imposturing the role of regulator will also fail and it will be interesting to see what their fall back plan is some day. But I do not hold my breath. No one notices...yet. The politicians in Canada are at least one standard deviation behind those of the U.S. when it comes to understanding the markets, their corruption, the role of The Bank of Canada, the large Canadian Banks, the significance of gold as as the ultimate currency and knowing the meaning of the term "derivative" (although there is some guidance with respect to the mortgage markets). They are either totally intimidated by Barrick and its role in the gold cartel, or they are again, just plain witless.
When it comes to the media, well, we have the "populus" Liberal CBC ( $1 billion/yr. taxapayer fed, with commercials if you please) vs. the Mandarins of media. Some choice! Correct me if I'm wrong, but I have not seen a single comment on BNN, Canada's privately owned, national business news network, about he revelations and fallout from the CFTC hearings, the attempt on Andrew Maguire's life, the cancellation of the media interviews with Bill Murphy and so on.
Thank God for our "freedom of expression" ( in spite of our $200 million/yr. Human Rights Comission...watch what you say and how you say it ) vs. the American "freedom of speech". We have still got the "luxury" of forums such as this to politely express ourselves (I am standing on my chair waving frantically here). Where else but Canada would you have a handful of leftist, self-serving professors getting national exposure and support for saying that the children of fallen members our Armed Forces shouldn't be entitled to free university tuition?...when their own sons and daughters are allowed to belly up to that trough of theirs?...better quit while I'm a head ( used to be a joke about that).
Without forums such as this we would be much less the wiser. So, thank goodness for this forum and thank goodness for the internet.
Have a great day all.
