Seems this should become Rule #1 for general market trading.

Why waste time trying to scalp a little here and a little there by trading daily? Enjoy life doing other things and wait for financial reform legislation to be voted on. A few days before any upcoming vote, place the BIG Market Short bet that it will pass. It won't, of course, because the politicians are on the take and scared. Cover the Shorts and go Long right as the voting begins.

Just stay long and forget the markets until the next reform package gets close to a vote.

Repeat.

Wonder how well this would work after all new people are elected, replacing the current scum, err, I mean, elected officials.

Should work 'til at least next November.
