on measuring ECU shares, gold etc. against FIAT, here is something you should consider.
SOMETHING POSITIVE FOR FIAT ENTHUSIASTS (uugghh)!!
During the last seven years, the official rate of inflation is approx. 18.5%.
Actual rate is at least 2 x i.e. 37%.
Therefore if you purchased ECU for say $.60 in 2003, your shares are now worth approx. $0.49 officially and unofficially, approx.$0.38. in value as opposed to when purchased.
So, at $0.60, shares have actually increased in value.
I know there are those that purchased for more than $0.60, but in the last twelve months alone, ECU has more than held its own, just due to rate(s) of inflation:)
