Why do people wait with bated breath for the "official" lies from government when all of the statistics presented are false and designed, as usual, to mislead?

The real unemployment rate is somewhere in the range of 22%. During the Great Depression it was 25%. During the coming "Greater" Depression it is going to be higher.
