Hey there pic, strangely I'm also a scorpio (15th) :) I wish I was going to be in Dubai when you are there, I think it would be great to meet up with you! A couple of tips:

There is a series of shops in the souk called 'Marhaba' (which means hello in Arabic), you'll notice a number of canadian navy stickers on the door. Those guys are pretty honest and can certainly help you to locate some physical. The silver souk is separate from the gold souk, but nearby... again the guys in Marhaba can guide you. Remember there are two gold souks in Dubai, the new one and the old one. The old on is in the Pakastani area of town and is the only place to get real deals... haggling is a must. Whatever you choose, always aim for at least 50% less than the advertised price.

Also, take the time to see Min'al Salaam (Harbour of peace), it's a beautiful hotel and has a great little arabic market style shopping center and some great food. Also, check out the Lebanese restaurant Wafi Gourmet in the Dubai mall for awesome food and a great atmosphere at the base of the Burj Khalifa. The people of Dubai are really, really good people and the local in particular are very hospitable.

By the way, what a beautiful run on silver - plan on rubbing it in my bank managers face today :) I have a friend who was previously unconvinced whose buying 10,000 in ECU today as he now suspects a serious breakout to the upside if/when our financials are announced.
