Golden Minerals is a junior silver producer with a strong growth profile, listed on both the NYSE Amex and TSX.
and reading all these end of the year's thoughts and statements, also from financial professionals in the hedgefund world, bankers etc, i cannot get away from developing a strong feeling that with silver at the current and most likely higher levels in the months to come, as big and screaming advertisement for stocks like ecu for all out there to see, big money will enter the scene rather sooner than later, understanding by the nature of their jobs how leverage works. 1 ounce of silver/ per share and counting that is not something that will be ignored much longer imo.
also around me, not working in the financial sector, the jpm naked shorting silver story is picking up exposure quickly, even in the usa, and people are open to talk about it now for the first time. a year ago when the issue was brought up, i was called the idiot and conspiricy thinker (which i'm by the way) many times, same thing happened to me when i sold my houses back in early spring 2006 and if they asked explaned people why.
so yes optimistic here as well, although i would be very happy and pleasantly surprised if these stocks go X3 in the year to come. and we avoid another crash of the equity markets like we have seen in 2008, because g&s might rebound shortly when that happns, but i'm not sure about these junior stocks. another possible negative on our investment here might be when usa declairs war to iran, that might also crash the stock markets.
also too much and steep inflation might have a negative effect on companies like ecu since having debt, using oil and steel amongst others for drilling will in that invironment rise skyhigh as well. obviously the silver spotprize rises as well, but not assured this will be enough for ecu to just continue. hopefully next year a beginning can be made by reducing debt in a constructive way. i'm planning on calling the company next year and try to get more info on and a better understanding of that issue.
i also feel we own a lot and should be grateful to the people behind gata and thed butler who both didn't rest to keep educating the big public (including myself). i can only imagine how much pressure, violence and name calling these guys and their families must have been under and probably still are exposed to. there are not many out there in the world that take such an effort and personal risk to try and get the reality know to others, fighting the powers that be.
anyhow, time to close the computer for this year and share family and the last moments of what turned out an intersting year to mention the least. cheers roos.
