I think that the last line pretty much sums up the world, the economy and investing in a nutshell. Concerning the rest of the article, I think that China has an even bigger problem / is making a bigger mistake. They are transforming into a consumer society, building expectations, increasing the resources necessary to run their country and ruining their environment, just as the availability and more importantly, the affordability of those resources is about to crash.
Telling people that they can't have any and why, will make them unhappy. Telling them they can have as much as they want, and then after they've worked hard all their lives and just got to the head of the line, that the bowl is empty, will likely make them lose it violently.
I just hope we don't get much of that in North America.
