COMEX Warehouse Stocks Mar 15, 2011

Café members have probably wondered what happened to my contributions to the daily Midas. I was giving a seminar a week ago in Scotland and collapsed with a seizure. I was taken to hospital and had a bunch of tests done. I am happy to report that the diagnosis was that it was due to exhaustion and dehydration. I have taken this as a warning and changing my living and working habits.

In the meantime some interesting things have been happening in the inventories of the Comex.

SILVER

ZERO ozs withdrawn from the dealer’s (registered) inventory
3,989 ozs withdrawn from the customer (eligible) inventory
Total dealer inventory 41.05 Mozs
Total customer inventory 60.60 Mozs
Combined Total 101.65 Mozs

GOLD

5,598 ozs withdrawn from the dealers (registered) category
80,325 ozs withdrawn from the customer (eligible) category
Total dealer inventory 2.36 Mozs
Total customer inventory 8.61 Mozs
Combined Total 10.97 Mozs

There were 60Kozs of gold withdrawn from the customer inventory and 5.5 Kozs withdrawn from the dealer inventory. In silver 4 Kozs were withdrawn from the customer inventory. What should be noted is that the silver inventory is getting close to a new record low and close to breaking the 100 Mozs mark. Despite the cartel trying to make the events in Japan PM negative (which they are not) they are desperately short of silver and the inventories are continuing to shrink.

There were 73 delivery notice issued in the MAR gold contract. The MAR gold delivery notice total for the month is 1,114 notices or 111,400 ozs.

There were 188 delivery notices issued in the MAR silver contract. The MAR silver delivery notice total for the month is 790 or 3.95 Mozs.

The OI in MAR silver stands at 1,309 contracts this is a large amount to be outstanding so late in the month. The shorts are clearly lacking available silver for delivery. The potential silver delivery for the month is 10.5 Mozs or 25.5% of the registered inventory.
