historical-stocks lagging

I was wondering if anyone can recall over the last 100 years if you've seen an asset like silver increase from say 4 bucks to 36 for a 9 bagger yet , many many stocks failed to advance. Any help would appreciate it, could be pharmacetuals or any sector.
