It certainly seems a person with this resume should never be allowed to hold a public or government position. How come things never change in Washington???
Gartman commentary:
Finally, we have heard that Ms. Jamie Gorelick is being
considered for the position to head the FBI. This cannot
and must not be true. Mr. Gorelick… an attorney with
one of the leading law firms in Washington: Wilmer,
Cutler, Pickering, Hale & Dorr and a former Ass’t Attorney
General in the Clinton Administration… is one of the
people we hold fully responsible for the problems in the
US housing market, for it was she who moved hard and
often to end the so-called “red lining” of the US mortgage
system, forcing banks to make loans to individuals that
would have previously been deemed “un-bankable” and
indeed incapable of maintaining proper banking relations.
She was on the Board of Fannie Mae and served as its
Vice Chairman from 1997-2003, and it was during her
tenure that Fannie Mae made the massive errors of
judgment that resulted in the collapse of the US housing
market. She was paid more than $25 million by Fannie
Mae during her tenure there! We do indeed blame her
for much of what happened. She was also the person
responsible for establishing “The Wall” that separates the
FBI from the CIA and the NSA, making it all but
impossible for these organisations to share information
they get on a daily basis. Appointing her as the Director
of the FBI would be utter madness.
