Need your input, please.

Back in the 1960’s, I was part of the operation of one of the largest mines in Canada. One of the things we were quite proud of is that the recovery of the secondary metals (PM’s) covered all operating costs.

By my calculations, using measured and inferred, ECU has approx. U.S. $1.5 billion potential total recovery of Lead (using 50% recovery) and Zinc (using 40% recovery ),using today’s pricing.

Based on today’s pricing, assuming present operating costs double to approx $1 million per month for 5000tonne/day mill, can operating costs be covered by base metal recovery alone?

At 5000 tonnes/day (320days/year), the recovery costs would have to be about $75.00/tonne, for base metals alone.

Good Luck to all!
