I suspect one of the reasons for Bernanke's press conference was to show the press and congress how open and transparent the fed now is. Nothing to hide. Doing a great job. Everything under control. So no need to replace them or send them packing.
Bernanke was very polite, not condescending with sometimes long answers. All questions taken seriously, but of the softball variety, imo, though I didn't hear more than half of them. I kept nodding off when I didn't hear a Ron Paul type of question.
Seemed to be more concern over rising gas prices and the like rather than the Chinese and others eating our economic lunch, etc. Too bad Ron Paul couldn't have sneaked into the back and fired off a few questions.
Bernanke probably will be given koodoos for a nice performance which should please the bankers. After all, anything that would make Ron Paul's and friends' efforts to abolish the fed a lot harder is fine with them.
