Hey Sketch,
Looked on their website and found the following. The guy obviously speaks Spanish and has a close connection to Latin America. It's not hard to trace the path to Peru.
On Christopher Ecclestone:
"Hallgarten continues to provide Buy-side coverage of Latin American macroeconomics
and companies via its subsidiary, Buenos Aires Trust Company S.A..
Hallgarten also provides consultancy services on Latin American economic, politics and
corporate matters including the production of bespoke research."
"Before moving to the U.S., he was the founder and head of research at the esteemed
Argentine equity research firm, Buenos Aires Trust Company, from 1991 until
2001. Prior to his arrival in Argentina..."
Oh and a look at his most recent reports shows that they obviously have an interest in and report on Peru:
-
Peru: State of the Peruvian Mining Nation - 12 key companies reviewed
- Latin Portfolio Strategy: Quarterly stock review - October 07
-
Venezuela Mining: GRZ - The Russians are Coming
- The S&P Latin 40 Index: Mended but not yet fixed

- Peru Mining: Minera IRL - Fast-tracking to production

-
