I'm with TD Waterhouse, and just received a 100,000 ECU warrant certificate in the mail last month. Took about 2 weeks and cost $50 and a phone call. Easy.
This is not the first and only one I have either...If U are at all in doubt about your shares, I recommend this route for piece of mind...but I don't believe that there is a real risk of short default. jmho. I believe that there are manipulative trading practices, as there have been market makers since the market began (read Jesse Livermore's story)...this is to be expected.
Re ECU, I just see a lot of negative sentiment, capitulation, and mostly, a lot of shares (try counting to 360,000,000 some time), held at a loss for a lot of time. That takes a lot of time and lower prices to work these weak handed shares into stronger hands. JMHO.
I'm here for the long-term. Waiting for $200 silver. Then I'll worry if ECU still trades under a buck!
