As long as AUM and AUMN sell at lower multiple of 20, you will have lots of asks on ECU. Right now you can buy AUM for less than $18.00 ($0.90 cents equivalent for ECU)
Why would you want to buy ECU at 93 cents when you can pay less than 90 cents VIA AUM. I'm actually surprised to see everytime that the 92's get taken out, more batches come in.
Given the fact that AUM has virtually no volume, it's price is determined by AUMN which trades which much higher volume in the States. Only when AUMN increases will ECU increase.
This game will get interesting if and when the merger gets approved. If so, all ECU o/s shares get called in. Anyone short will have to cover. This will put upwards pressure on it's price. Will this force AUM and/or AUMN higher or will the shorts attack AUM/N?
As Coach mentioned earlier an $18.00 stock is much harder to short than a 90 cent stock
