The cartel does not like it when the little guys fight back. Based on the first 30 minutes of gold action tonight, it looks like Venezuela struck a vital organ. I guess the U.S. could just label Chavez a terrorist a confiscate their gold, but that would just cause the rest of the world to stop storing their money with the Anglo's and the west is desperate to keep Asia, the Middle East, and South America storing all their profits in our banks.
