Latest trend was that Asia has been buying and Europe and N. America mostly selling. So I suspect $1700 has little chance of being seen because Asia will most likely be buying tonight driving the price back to 1900 or even higher.

Friday's economic indicators may have some deciding say about the trend following this week. QE3 is not a question of if but when. US politicians are not ready to make the necessary changes to avoid the next QE.
