Hi all,
In the end I was never offered the voting forms and tried to organize through my bank but was left high and dry... basically they weren't sure what to do and by the time they stopped dithering it was really too late. I wonder how many institutions who are short our stock simply didn't bother to tell their investors about the merger vote or sent the forms to the investor as they didn't recive them as they don't actually hold the stock? No short squeeze? Hmm perhaps as there is no real pressure to deliver. Partially my fault for not being harder on my bank to cough up the forms... but still I think the institutions take for granted that the average investor is simply too busy to chase then constantly. A couple of my friends who pulled certificated and placed them in safe keeping boxes, simply couldn't be bothered to go to collect them and send them and then vote. It's that simple issue of complacency to democracy.
Anyhow, I sincerely hope the merger goes through. I expect a very significant push on the share price if it does, then again I have expected a major push on the share price for years, quarter after quarter. Hopefully the reduction in shares in issue and the increased price will really have a true effect on the shorting of this stock as so many of us have waited to so long and taked major 'opportunity losses' waiting for this stock to achieve a real value. I think we have a very bright future, but I would also like to make a bit of money in the process... here's hoping all goes well with this vote, shame I didn't get to participate!
Good luck to us all
Soul
