My brokerage will let you place a limit order with a high or low price. You get a warning "excessive price variance" but it will still let you enter the order. The time I tried it was with a price of about 50% deviation from the current price, but it seemed to be OK to enter. I have not tried it for a 3X, 5X or 10X variance though.
