"I am not ignoring the flaws in the design of the European monetary union (there are many), but the euro has also brought a lot of benefits to Europe and the Western world by taking away huge market obstacles (all those 20+ different currencies), so it should be beneficial for all to support the euro, while deficits are brought back and structural reforms take place, both of which actually are taking place."

Comment:

Without the input and support of "average european joe/jane", the Euro cannot survive.

Long gone are the days when Politicians and Financial Dictators are allowed to act "Willy-Nilly".

Under the present structure, the only people that see benefit, are the Ruling Elite (Politicians) and the bankers. When joe/jane public is given a choice and buys a "ticket to the dance", then maybe these fundamental changes will have a definite chance to succeed.

Until then, the elites need to take what they can, when they can and then hitail it for the hills.
