Hi Priggly et.al.
I personally think the question is very relevant for both discussion with my family members and for a precious metals board.
America is not what it used to be, and it has been steered there by the politicians.
Who votes and keeps them in power?
Anyone who can vote, and most are under the age of 45!
Capitalism seems to be "giving way" to socialism in a big way, in the U.S. as it does in most of the Western World.
Is it because we like the idea of not having to be self-sufficient?
Is it because we like the idea of "Handouts"?
Is it because we lean towards being "Socially Engineered"?
Is it because we are headed towards Communism? I hope not, but who can tell what the various movements like OWS are wanting?
Capitalism when taken to its extreme, leads to what we have today, where greed rules and "The Golden Rule" is prevelant. However, is that the result of greed, or is that the start of Communism.
Don't forget, fourty years ago, when both Capitalism and Communism was prevelant within the two superpowers, the wealth was much more widespread in America than it was in the USSR.
Is that where America is heading today?
Do todays scenes reflect Capitalism?
Also, why are so few people following PM's? If Capitalism was the "Order of the Day" this board would be full of new people and the amount of trading would be multiples of what it is today. Same with all the other PM's
Is it because most don't fear for the direction our society is heading?
Is it because society wants to even out the wealth and owning PM's does not lead in that direction?
Are people in PM'S here simply to make FIAT money?
Do they still believe in FIAT money?
If that is the case, why so few involved?
We live in interesting times!
To all Canadians, hope you enjoy thanksgiving this weekend.
Good Luck to all!
