Golden Minerals is a junior silver producer with a strong growth profile, listed on both the NYSE Amex and TSX.
Richard O'Brian of Newmont was interviewd from Davos this morning (where they were shocked to hear that poverty exists said a tongue-in-cheek report on Zerohedge). The usual, scripted, negative bent questions were asked about gold (a 'high risk investment you know) and the challenges of miners and their increasing costs and environmental evils etc. Richard obligingly acknowledged the inquisator's acumen but went on to say that their margins had not kept pace with the higher gold price ( uhhh, it's the stock price dummy). With that the cry in went on with Richard's lament that it takes 5 years to find a good gold deposit and ten years to commence mining. Of course, the grades out there are diminishing. 'S' and 'D' (Supply and Demand) have been upgraded to mean saddism and devience.
On it went...echoing the same type of interview only yesterdy with the Pres. of Pan Am Silver, who one could just imagine bending over for the new member of his Board just parachuted in from Goldman Sachs. I wonder when they will announce their 'new' silver hedgeing program to 'protect all their investors? Both of these guys looked very relaxed and quite pleased with themselves. I guess naked shorting to them is like a naughty sex affair paid for by your wife. Money can buy love. Who cares abot the family or the dog.
We note from Washington that they 'seem' to be detached from reality, being awash in money with almost $5 million lobbying lubricant for every member...and that there may be a bill passed to prevent insider trading....because almost every member is bringing in over $1million average. Now that should really please the unemployed, foreclosed, educated, uneducated, underwater, stressed out, uninsured, ill person in America.
But wait! Here's some analyst from New York on BNN saying that the Greek stock market , down from 6000 to 600...is the "best inevstment opportunity since the Phoencian Wars"! Gotta go! Time is wasting and I need to get in on that bargain tout suite!
And the day is young.
