I'm not sure exactly what your point is but the short was obviously illegally "naked" while shorting ECU. It must have felt compelled to come clean on the conversion (U.S. listed) and thus the 20-25 million share "unofficial" naked short position became "official" involving AUMN.

If the Canadian regulators, who were notified dozens of times over several years about the illicit ECU trading, had done their job, we might not faced such a difficult predicament.
