Golden Minerals is a junior silver producer with a strong growth profile, listed on both the NYSE Amex and TSX.
Someone at Paradigm really negatively impacted Golden in the last 2 days as all their stock was sold Thursday and friday. I also note that they were also active selling on the AMEX as many large sells wnet through at the exact same second suggesting it was likely them. In one instance I saw about 9000 shares sold between TSX and AMEX at exact same second in about a 40/60 split, this occured numerous times today suggesting that the Paradigm seller probably sold close to 150,000 of today's combined volume since today's Paradigm TSX sell volume was 63,400 shares.
The stock clearly wanted to go higher and there were some decent buyers around but they were cautious because of the stupid way in which the selling was being executed and not knowing how much was yet available. I hate to see someone of this size throwing in the towel in a low liquidity environment in mid-summer just when it seems things may be on the verge of breaking out for gold/silver and PM equities which will make emerging producers and succesful junior producers even faster movers.
The precious metals market is moving into it's seasonal best part of the year having spent the best part of the last year consolidating setting higher lows lately with huge physical buyers (many are various central banks) now just below $1600 as witnessed this week, they used to be at $1525-30 not long ago. This all suggests a move higher and maybe we will get the big move higher that people like Alf Fields, Sinclair, Embry, Murphy, Turk and Sprott, etc. are looking for.
