Several large, long term ECU shareholders have always been distrustful of TD's proprietary trading desk amidst the suspicion that they were frequently shorting very large blocks of ECU stock.

It would not surprise me one bit if this downgrade is related to the current short position of that desk or the desk's connection with the hedge funds involved in the AUMN short position.
