The movie "Casablanca" just turned 70 years old. The Rolling Stones are celebrating their 50th anniversary. This is just an example, as I've always been fascinated by such time lines, and I sense many here are in the same boat as I, age-wise.
I was early teen age when the Stones became famous in the US, but Casablanca was released 9 years before I was born. The Stones are my contempories, Casablanca's an OLLLLDDDD movie; yet, the difference between 50 and 70, in the grand scheme of years, is nothing. But it never ceases to amaze me how things that ocurred prior to our births (or at least prior to any sentience), seem so old, compared to things that we experienced first hand, largely irrespective of the number of years between the events.
Just a thought, what the heck.
