Surprisingly, unless I am mistaken, there wasn't any commentary on the 69% premium that FR paid to acquire OK on Sunday Dec. 16th. Presumably, some of the 26 cent rally for AUMN on Monday Dec. 17th was related to the premium paid for this acquisition. (Unfortunately, the following 2 days witnessed stock price weakness as gold/silver were smashed.)
This is encouraging for the small/mid tier silver producers as an indication that the valuations have reached a level of absurdity. Keep in mind that AUMN is practically "next door" to Orko in the Durango Silver Belt. I don't believe AUMN mgmt would cash out at this time with so much production potential over the next 1-2 years. However, it would not disappoint me to see a larger entity make a bid for the company and provide a catalyst for a higher stock price going into 2013.
