Canaccord has not commented on this stock in over a year--not enough banking business. Wouldn't surprise me if this becomes the bottom of the stock as the ANALyst merely reflects in the rearview mirror.

The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, Jan. 22, edition that Canaccord Genuity analyst Nicholas Campbell downgraded Golden Minerals ($4.16) to "hold" from "speculative buy" after its fourth quarter production missed his forecasts. The Globe's Darcy Keith writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Campbell says increased labour competition hindered throughput at the Velardena mine in Mexico during the quarter. Mr. Campbell says the operation remains understaffed. In addition, "it seems as though AUM is still trying to figure out the best way to optimize the Velardena mine," says the Canaccord stockpicker. The analyst cut his price target to $4.75 from $7. Canaccord Genuity analyst Steven Butler cut his price target on Golden Minerals to $22.75 from $23.50 in the Eye column on Oct. 18, 2011. The shares were then going for $8.05. The shares have a 52-week range of $3.34 to $10.52
