FYI I just got off the phone with Sprott Toronto and was told they still have a "reduced" position in Canada. My source of whom I originally spoke was from the US and his comment was that they no longer held a position there. So the Canadian arm still has a position as of 31 December, albeit reduced as I was informed, while the U.S. arm, does not.
So to make things crystal clear in a clouded scenario, Sprott Toronto still holds a reduced position in Golden but Sprott USA does not, according to my source.
Someone may well be trying to manipulate the stock so they can buy it cheaply but it is not the person with whom I had a casual conversation. You would do very well not to make such presumptions. It is no secret what stocks a company holds so please do not try to make it an issue of national security.
What we all need to be concentrating on is why this company has lost over 80% of its value since the ECU deal, and not debating how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. It is obvious that Sprott or whomever is not going to hold a stock forever until it falls to nothing or is taken over for a song to everyone's detriment except the acquirer.
