It looks like Sprott reported early for the quarter ending Dec 2012 and they have sold 106,031 shares but continue to hold 562,300 shares. This data would seem about right considering that Sprott US is a small percentage of Sprott Canada.

I also note that Vanguard reported early and they added 251,988 shares to close at 1,514,976 shares.

Even Bank of Mellon reported early and added to their position at the rate of an increase of 29.55%

Funds/institutions go up and down based on all kinds of criteria but for sure we can't be totally suprised that some would reduce their positions given what has transpired in the precious metals equity sector since early last October. For my part I see this ending shortly and it may already have bottomed for numerous companies. Buy when others are crying and sell when they are cheering is an old refrain that has served many well for decades.
