I had lunch with a friend today.

He just sold his business and is now flush with cash and wanted to know what to do with it.

He presently has a percentage banked here in Canada and some in a Costa Rica account.

I suggested he use as much as he can to protect his wealth. Buy some gold, buy some silver, buy some farmland, buy some PM shares and take delivery, I suggested.

He's convinced he has time to think about it despite what is happening in the banking world today, so he's deposited the majority into the bank and says he gets to realise 2% on his money.

He's a friend and I hope it works for him, but he's no different than most.
