I bought some silver bars at the Gaithersburg Coin Exchange yesterday. It is the best coin store in the mid atlantic, and maybe the largest. While I was there, I was the only caucasian and the other 6 or 7 customers were from India. A bit later an asian customer came in. I said to the store employee that I was surprised it was not more crowded. He said I was lucky that I did not come on Saturday as there was a line of 300 people to get in the store. I then asked buyers or sellers to which he gave an emphetic BUYERS! He also said that though the store was not currently packed, they were getting alot of phone orders. The store owner has in the past told me they buy and sell $2 to 3 million a week.
