If China holds $2 trillion of U. S. debt and is allowed to purchase 2000 tonnes of gold "on the cheap", gold would have to increase almost $600.00/ounce to offset a devaluation of 25% in the U.S. $.
Maybe this is how the U.S. intends to "pay its debts" to the East without devaluation being considered an "act of war".
