A two or three % swing is not huge...I think it was probably just a minor coincidence that caused it. Strong stormy conditions would have kept away those "remainers" who were ignorant of what the EU even is....whereas most "leavers" had stronger motives, principles, dislike of beaurocracy, dislike of Europe running GB...etc...and would brave hurricanes to vote EXIT.

I have an engineer friend in Brixham who was genuinely indoctrinated to fear the EXIT! Oh.."It's so complicated", they told me, like I couldn't possibly understand. "But Trudeau says STAY!, and Obama"...like they truly understand anything!

My friends think it's the end of the world...The propaganda is HUGE...These are normally intelligent people. This is Huxley 1984, Mein Kampf, Das Boot...whatever...at its worst. Nothing I can say to them would ease their fears about leaving EU...
