Drilling Resumes On La Fortuna Project

January 7, 2008, - Vancouver - Golden Peaks Resources Ltd. (TSX: GL) reports that the current drill program has resumed on its La Fortuna gold project in Patagonia, Argentina, following the Christmas break. Two drill rigs will continue detailed drilling of the discovery T-11 zone, the Amphitheatre zones, untested surface gold mineralization on the CR Structure, as well as reconnaissance drilling of as yet untested parts of the A, E, CB and ML Structures.

All zones drilled to date are open in all directions.

All holes drilled prior to the Christmas break have been delivered for assay and results are awaited.

The Company is looking forward to an exciting and aggressive drilling season for 2008 on the Company's gold projects.
