VANCOUVER, Jan. 11 /CNW/ - Golden Predator Corp. (TSX: GPD) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has expedited two winter drill programs in the Yukon on its Grew Creek and Brewery Creek Projects to commence in February, 2011. These programs are targeted to follow up on discoveries reported in late 2010 from the Carlos Zone at Grew Creek, including 1.72 g/t Au over 146.3 m in hole GC10-001, 1.21 g/t Au over 132.18 m in hole GC10-002, and 60.85 m of 1.93 g/t Au from hole GC10-003 (news release October 25, 2010), and from the Bohemian Zone at Brewery Creek, including 2.79 g/t Au over 50.5 m in hole BC10-168 and 3.20 g/t Au over 56.5 m in hole BC10-170 (news release December 8, 2010).
The Company's planned minimum 2,000 m initial 2011 drilling program at Brewery Creek is scheduled to begin February 15th and will focus on testing extensions along strike and down dip of known high-grade gold intercepts at the Bohemian Zone. The significant results of the Company's 2010 reverse circulation and diamond drill programs at Brewery Creek were detailed in previous news releases dated September 10th and December 8th, 2010. Kluane Drilling Ltd. has been contracted to carry out the drilling program at Brewery Creek. After successful completion of the Phase 1 2011 drilling program at Bohemian Zone, the Company anticipates receiving an updated resource estimate for the Brewery Creek Project in the third quarter of 2011.
The Company also plans to commence drilling on the Carlos Zone at Grew Creek during February, 2011 with a minimum of 15 diamond core holes focused on three specific target types: infill drilling, down dip extensions of known high-grade gold mineralization, and strike extensions to the southeast. After successful completion of this second phase of drilling at the Carlos Zone, the Company also anticipates commissioning an initial resource estimate for the Grew Creek Project in the third quarter of 2011.
