Shalegas...the possibility of coal at depth never occured to me. But I wouldn't expect shale gas on this play because the shale is at such a shallow depth. Unless there is another layer of shale oil at depth, there would be nothing to trap the gas inside the shale.

Our advantage where shale OIL is concerned...ie: shallow deposit, probably means no shale gas.

The caveat here is that I am no expert on shale gas or shale oil for that matter. Just thinking out loud. Maybe someone with more knowledge could give their opinion?
