If oil shale of this type is of interest, you might wish to visit
Costar Oil Shale Symposia (http://www.costar-mines.org/oil_shale_symposia.html)
where we have posted the proceedings of four years of Oil Shale Symposia. The Oil Shale Symposium is the premier international conference on development of the traditional oil shale deposits. In an Oil and Gas Journal article in 2009, costs of in situ production of oil shale were calculated at $38/barrel, with mining and surface retorting generally higher. Some of the Estonian talks in the Symposium may provide additional estimates of their production costs. Happy to talk more if you wish (303-384-2235)
