Graphene, carbon polymers, graphene oxides are already being considered in silicon anode batterys to help contain / controll swelling / cracking that accompanies charge and discharge / battery life.  Carbon based Encapsulated silicon nano particles will probably be part of the ultimate solution to this problem...
