I’m guessing that what is currently being tested by the potential client is the powder’s characteristics (i.e; size distribution) not the silicon’s purity. HPQ / Novacium are testing different commercially available technologies to crush the silicon into micron size powder, they would certainly end up choosing to use the technology that can produce powder that has the characteristics needed by the client.
