Message: Successful Silicon Pour and Validation of All Critical Milestones in HPQ PUREVAP™ Gen3 QRR Testing

HPQ Silicon Inc. Achieves Landmark Milestones in Gen3 QRR Testing

HPQ Silicon Inc. (TSX-V: HPQ) (OTCQB: HPQFF) (FRA: O08), a trailblazing technology firm specializing in environmentally friendly silica and silicon production processes, has marked a resounding success in its Gen3 PUREVAP™ Quartz Reduction Reactor (QRR) testing program. This achievement was made possible through a productive partnership with PyroGenesis Canada Inc. (TSX: PYR) (NASDAQ: PYR) (FRA: 8PY), the project's technology provider.

Following their September 28th announcement, PyroGenesis reported that key enhancements aimed at improving liquid silicon fluidity in the Gen3 QRR reactor played a decisive role in achieving the project's final critical milestones. This culminated in a successful silicon pour, a monumental achievement. This accomplishment now confirms the successful validation of all critical milestones, which encompass the following:

99.5% Silicon Purity: The Gen3 QRR process achieved an outstanding level of purity, surpassing current industry standards.

2,500X Production Increase: Production capacity was boosted by a remarkable 2,500 times compared to the previous Gen2 QRR model.

Semi-Continuous Batch Production: The reactor demonstrated its capability for semi-continuous batch production, a key aspect of its innovative design.

Breakthrough Silicon Pour: The successful silicon pour showcases the Gen3 QRR's operational excellence.

One-Step 3N+ Silicon Production: HPQ achieved the one-step production of 3N+ Silicon, an essential material for advanced battery production.

Reduced Feedstock Usage: The process optimally utilizes feedstock, reducing material usage by 25% compared to conventional carbothermic methods.

Bernard Tourillon, President & CEO of HPQ Silicon, expressed his gratitude to the dedicated PyroGenesis Silicon team and highlighted the significance of this milestone in advancing high-purity silicon production. The HPQ PUREVAP™ QRR process is now poised to revolutionize silicon-based anode material manufacturing for the battery industry.

In the past month, HPQ's Silicon, Fumed Silica, and Autonomous Hydrogen Generation initiatives have all achieved noteworthy milestones, aligning with the company's strategic objectives.

Mr. P. Peter Pascali, CEO of PyroGenesis, praised the collective effort that led to the successful silicon pour, positioning this groundbreaking approach for high-purity silicon creation on the cusp of commercialization.

HPQ's Strategy for Silicon-Based Battery Materials

HPQ remains committed to its battery strategy, aiming to provide tailored silicon-based anode materials to industry partners. The company is on track to establish its first silicon-based anodes production line to meet specific commitments under a Non-Disclosure Agreement by the close of 2024.

As the lithium battery sector witnesses a trend toward incorporating silicon oxide into graphite composite electrodes, the demand for silicon anode materials is surging. The market, currently valued between US$1.1 billion and US$2.7 billion, is projected to require 300,000 tons by 2030, estimated at up to US$131.6 billion in 2033. HPQ's technology promises an eco-friendly, scalable, and efficient manufacturing process, poised to meet the battery industry's evolving demands.
