Currently, Tesla mainly uses theĀ Panasonic 18650 lithium-cobalt-acid battery, the entire battery contains thousands of independent cells, the battery costs about 135 $ / kWh, to provide 233 W / kg of energy. The future of Tesla plans to launch a new 20,700 lithium battery pack.
